LIT Program

Leader-in-Training Program

If you are interested in growing in your leadership abilities, love working with kids, and want to have fun while doing your volunteer hours (get 30+ hours per week), then apply for the LIT program at Rooted. Applicants must be entering grade 7-12 in the fall of 2026 to apply.

From July 6-10 LITs will take part in an intensive training week which will cover many topics like: leadership, talking about faith, safety with children, conflict resolution, team work, and problem solving in a crisis. In addition, LITs will be given hands-on experience working with kids in a fun, outdoor camp setting. LITs will train in four key activity areas: arts, outdoor education, gardening, and sports/games and work with kids in large and small groups alongside trained staff.

After the intensive training week, LITs may be invited back as camp counsellors throughout the remainder of the summer.

The application for LIT opens March 1, and we will continue accepting applications until our program is full.
