Plant a Garden. Grow Community. Deepen Creation Care.
Rooted is launching a pilot Church Cohort in 2026, inviting congregations to journey together as they discern, design, and plant sustainable church gardens and orchards.
This 11-month learning cohort equips pastors and church leaders with the theological grounding, practical tools, and community support needed to create gardens that nourish both people and planet.
What Is the Church Cohort?
Beginning May 2026, a small group of congregations will meet monthly online alongside leaders from Rooted and Eden’s Refuge to:
- Explore the theological and biblical foundations of creation care
- Learn how gardens support food security and community connection
- Develop a clear vision and mission for a church garden
- Build volunteer teams and sustainable leadership structures
- Receive guidance toward designing and implementing a garden or orchard
By spring 2027, participating churches will have a complete plan ready to plant a lasting, community-focused garden.
What’s Included in this FREE Pilot Cohort?
- Monthly 2-hour online cohort sessions (May 2026 – March 2027) with teaching and facilitation from Rooted & Eden’s Refuge, 11 sessions total with two people from each congregation included ($1,100 value)
- A mid-summer day retreat at Rooted to see the agrihood and gardens, watch the summer camp programming in action, and participate in an in-person workshop on curriculum implementation ($500 value)
- Consulting directly with each congregation on grant funding and site development ($400 value)
- Three curricular resources created by Rooted: a one-week VBS style camp curriculum, a four-week Sunday school curriculum, and a four-session adult Bible study on themes of creation care and congregational life ($500 value)
This pilot project will be FREE for congregations to participate in the 2026 Cohort (a $2500 value).
